A strong squad travelled through storm Clodagh last Saturday down to the west of Swansea to visit Swansea Uplands RFC. Unfortunately for us their first team game had been cancelled and the home coach asked if they could put all their 24+ players on as well. Having played them 5 weeks previously they were a few players we didn't recognise but as we mentioned previously we had a good squad also so we looked forward to the contest. Uplands with the gale force wind started strongly and scored 2 quick tries. It was extremely difficult just to get into their half and we didn't really get close to their 22 during the whole of the half and it was Uplands who finished the half like they started it scoring 2 more tries. Half Time Seven Sisters 0 - Swansea Uplands 26. With the wind second half we did give it all real go and pounded the uplands line on a few occasions but couldn't find that elusive score. The opposition brought on an abundance of fit young players and the elements didn't trouble them as they ran in 5 more tries. Final Score Seven Seconds 0 - Swansea Uplands 60. We played them 5-6 weeks ago and beat them by 30 points up in Seven, so a 90 point turn around in that space of time seems a bit strange as we certainly didn't send down a poor team that's for sure. So it will be very interesting to see what happens when we go back down there Jan 2 in the cup with their first playing on the pitch next door and if they beat us 60 nil that day we will put our hands up and say fair play but we will be surprised if that happens. Villains of the day Resolven RFC grounds men !!!!!!!! Thanks for the effort boys.
