Not sure what's going on with the weather lately but for the 5th week running a Saturday afternoon brought us glorious weather. Morriston were the visitors and have had a great start to their season remaining unbeaten, winning 4 from 4. Playing down the slope we struck first from a driving line out flanker Ricky Mitchell powered over with the rest of the pack. Bryn added the extras. Morriston though clawed their way back into the game scoring 2 tries near the posts but both went unconverted. Half Time score Seven Seconds 7 - Morriston 10. It was a tough old half, their line out wasn't functioning but their scrum seemed quite strong, the only thing separating the scores from our end was a couple of missed tackles in our 22, which lead to their 2 tries other than that it was a tight contest. The second half basically was a mirror if the first, we tried our best but couldn't break down the Morriston defence and it was the visitors who scored the only points of the second half through a converted try and a penalty. We nearly managed a score right at the death when we broke from deep in our own half only to be stopped metres from the line, a score here would have been just reward for our second half efforts but it was not to be. Final score Seven Seconds 7 Morriston 20. It was a tough contest especially for the front rowers who put in a quality shift, there must have been about 50 scrums during the game through various indiscretions !! To finish, whilst we had a chat in the huddle after the game their captain sneaked in and told us that had been their toughest game to date, so that was pleasing to hear. It's off over the valley next sat to play our neighbours Glyneath in a friendly.
